Hi John, thanks for sharing your perspective. I agree there's no objective "winner" on all measures- especially if you focus on smoking and meat consumption. I agree you can find ways to be healthy in any country if you try, though my perspective from having spent large amounts of time in various US and German cities is that it's easier here. If you've also lived in Europe and disagree on that one, I'd love to hear your take :)
