Thank you for your article! I had a similar reaction when reading the news - it was one of the few murders where I saw very little sympathy for the deceased. I might have been more sympathetic myself if I hadn't struggled with Lyme disease for a decade and spent thousands out of pocket. There were so many types of gouging: charging me $3k for an ambulance ride to an out-of-network hospital when I fainted at work, charging me for having sent lab samples to an out-of-network lab without consent, not considering my health condition "legitimate." I moved to Germany and have received much better care at a fraction of the cost. If there were a clearer way to change the system and for people to fight back, I would feel less outraged; in the current situation, I'm one more person who doesn't feel particularly heartbroken by this murder and what it expresses. Why is one type of harm (sometimes murder) at the expense of millions supposed to be banal and the other tragic?
